I LIVE AGAIN (ILA) Uganda is an indigenous, non-profit organization established in 2008, with a mission to give hope to survivors of war through holistic restoration and encourage those we serve to live a life of purpose. We provide Trauma Counselling, Faith-Based Support, Resettlement, Rescue, and Community Care Programs.

Role Summary
The Human Resource Coordinator role is one of a strategic steward of the organizational health and staff flourishing, fostering a trauma-sensitive, faith-aligned, and performance-driven culture. The role advances I Live Again Uganda mission by leading Human resource strategies that ensure ethical recruitment, clear role definition, empowered teams, and equitable practices, particularly across refugee settings and faith-based communities. With a focus on safeguarding, staff well-being, and inclusive programming, the Human Resource Coordinator nurtures a values-driven work environment aligned with the organization’s new strategic vision of 2025-
2030.

Talent Management & Workforce Planning:

You lead strategic workforce forecasting and recruitment planning to align staffing structures with program expansion and regional diversity.

You will support the refinement of emerging roles—such as Community Reintegration and Refugee Settlement Coordinators—for contextual relevance and mission alignment.

Staff Well-being, Safeguarding & Psychosocial Resilience:

You will champion a culture of wellness by embedding trauma-informed supervision, peer support, and safeguarding standards into all HR systems.

You will facilitate access to mental health and spiritual care of your employees through standardized referral mechanisms.

Culture Stewardship & Inclusion:

You will foster a cohesive organizational identity through collaborative job design, meaningful onboarding, and reflective practices for the organization.

Policy Development & Compliance:

You will design inclusive HR policies that reflect safeguarding commitments and faith-sensitive programming.

​You will ensure alignment of organizational policies with national labor laws, donor requirements, and internal risk frameworks, proactively managing operational risks.
Recruitment & Retention:

You will oversee hiring and retention practices of employees that emphasize mission alignment, spiritual vocation, ethical onboarding, and workforce diversity.
Capacity Building & Professional Development:

You will lead employee training and mentorship in evidence-based, contextual tools such as PM+, EASE, and IPT-G.

You will facilitate continuous learning and leadership development of your employees within both community and faith-based contexts.
Performance Management:

You will guide the performance appraisal processes with a focus on adaptive feedback, spiritual growth, and accountability in people’s work.

You will develop clear tools to support employees that balance achievement with relational and values-based leadership.

You will ensure adherence to National Employment Laws and regulations, donor requirements, and internal code of conduct while proactively identifying and managing operational HR risks.

Personal Skills and Qualifications
​

At least an Honors bachelor’s degree in human resource management or social sciences from a recognized university.
-
Post graduate diploma in personnel management or any other relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
-
Should have at least 3 years of professional experience, of which should be at a senior officer level or an equivalent rank.
-
Should have developed interpersonal skills and be capable of working as a member of a management team and a motivator of the team, with the ability to coach and develop subordinates effectively.
-
Must be a born-again Christian with a strong, personal, vibrant, and developing relationship with Jesus Christ.
